Zoë is our extra-special dog. Born 1/18/2000 and has been with us since she was 8 weeks old. What can I say? She's the best. A true "come-along-dog", she accompanies us nearly everywhere. Therapy Dogs International certified, she has over 75 hospital and nursing home visits. She has vacationed in Newfoundland, Ontario, and the Smoky Mountains. As all dogs, she enjoys a good roll in a dead possum! In May of 2006 she was diagnosed with a Grade 2 mast cell tumor. On June 9th she had surgery at Cornell Vet School, where the wonderful doctors were able to remove the tumor and enough adjacent tissue that she did not require radiation therapy and is now cancer-free!!! Her recovery took four weeks, and on her first full day of freedom she celebrated by finding and getting sprayed by a skunk.
June 1, 2004 on the Loyalsock Trail. It was Nancy's birthday, and everyone was having a great time until the heavy thunderstorms rolled in, hail included. Zoë does not like thunder!
